Tufted plant with narrow flax-like leaves. Delicate white flowers followed by large berries.

This Libertia is endemic to the North Island in coastal to montane, usually open habitats, it can be found in lowland forests, forest margins, on steep slope, ridge lines, bluffs, cliffs, stream banks and river terraces.

This plant is very attractive, with its leafy fans which are closely bunched on short highly branched rhizomes, it forms a clump of about 50cm height and 70cm width which produces spikes of pure white iris-like flowers during spring and summer. The leaves are tough, flax-like and turn yellow to orange in full sun. Its decorative golden seed pods last through the winter months.

This plant is very hardy, it grows in full sun as well as semi-shade and look great mass planted.
