Large growing forest tree found throughout New Zealand. Attractive needle-like foliage.
This large tree grows up to 25m and favours a shady and damp site. It is slow growing.
The dark green leaves are feathery, needle like and flattened. Its flowers appear between June, August and October which are followed by a large, oily, red fruit which is an important part of the diet of the New Zealand wood pigeons.
Very attractive specimen tree which is very hardy and does best in a semi shaded location.
