Grass-like plant with light green foliage know as NZ sedge.

Carex Comans, belongs to the Cyperaceae family of monocotyledonous graminoid flowering plants known as sedges, which superficially resemble grasses and rushes. This hardy, light green grass grows 30-50cm high, tolerating most dry soil types in full sun and wind however does best in full sun and free draining soils.

Comans "green" is easily distinguished by its very pale green foliage with bleached ends, giving the plant quite a whitish appearance. If it becomes straggly it can be divided and replanted.

Very effective in gardens when planted in combination with other grasses with stronger coloured foliage. Ideal for rock gardens and coastal areas. Its flowers are inconspicuous and appear on short spikes from the centre of the plant.

Found in both North and South Islands in pastures and river flats.
