A low-growing, often sprawling shrub producing bright crimson pink flowers for long periods throughout the year.

Hebe brevifolia is a sprawling hebe that is endemic to the North Cape in New Zealand. Here it grows in low wind shorn scrub, on open clay pans, on boulder falls, adjacent semi-stable scree and along cliff faces. Hebe brevifolia has distinct glossy, emerald green leaves. Between April and October reddish pink flowers appear on large spikes. With this particular hebe sporatic flowering is common all year round.

Prefers full sun in a well drained soil. Does best when frequently enriched with serpentinite or high magnesium fertiliser. Some forms of the species are more prostrate and can grow more as a ground cover reaching a spread of 1m.
